Local Features and Attractions

The O'oma Plantation is conveniently located minutes away from the Keahole International Airport and is also near shopping at Borders Books, Macy’s, Costco, Lowe's, Home Depot, Wal-Mart, and many other retailers. There are plans for additional retail and other commercial developments in north Kona, where much of the future action will be taking place.  Now is the time to invest in a residential lot in Hawaii, and the O’oma Plantation is the neighborhood for your new estate dream home.

Close to Beaches, Golf, and Resorts

Surfing, beaches, golf courses (Kona Country Club, Golf Kona) and deep-sea sport fishing (for which Kona is exceptionally well-known) are all available nearby.  The latter is offered out of the Honokohau Small Boat Harbor, just southwest of the Plantation.  Many other water sports are offered at the Kailua Harbor pier, where cruise ships drop off vacationers for daily activities all over the island.

The Plantation is within easy driving distance of the resorts north of the airport along the Kohala Coast. This area includes hotels operated by Marriot, Hilton, Four Seasons and other first -class resorts and residential neighborhoods.  You may have seen the final TV episodes for America’s Top Chef, filmed at locations in Kohala.

Speaking of beaches, O’oma Plantation owners will soon be able to look out onto the new Shores at Kohanaiki development which, upon completion, will include a 128-acre ocean beach park, championship golf course and several hundred new luxury homes.  With much larger lots, cooler temperatures and breezes, and sweeping views down on that new resort project, the Plantation is the place to be.  You’ll be just minutes away from yet another world-class golf resort and public beach, visible from your lanai!

Take a Drive

Drive South past Kailua-Kona through coffee orchards and spend a day at the south end of the island. Or take the nearby Mamalahoa Highway north to Waimea or Hilo for a complete change of pace and environment.  Continuing past Hilo eventually takes you Volcano, a little community named for its geological neighbor, Kilauea Volcano.

The beauty of the Big Island is that it is, well, really big and offers such diversity.  Whether the Plantation is your permanent residence, a vacation gateway or a retirement estate, you will be won over by the land of O'oma in beautiful Kona.
